C5 thermal shock climatic test

In a market where can be found several transformers manufacturers with no proven quality on the offered products, mainly on real values of no-load and load losses, SEA already performed the Complete Type Tests on the self-same dry-type transformer designed according to the Ecodesign Regulation EU/548/2014, Tier II (from 1st July 2021) showing its focus on the future requirements of energy sector.
The high quality standard of the ECO+P environmentally friendly cast resin transformers has been already confirmed by the result of the Complete Type Tests performed at CESI Laboratory on the 1500 kVA 11/0,4 kV transformer with level of losses A0 -10% Ak(Certificate no. B6000645).

The self-same ECO+P Cast resin transformer also satisfied the requirements (Certificate no. B6000647) related to fire, environmental and climate behaviour defined in the Standard IEC 60076-11 as follows:

E3 - Environmental
C2 - Climate
F1 - Fire Resistant

In general dry-type and cast resin transformers are mostly used indoor but their use is also increasing in outdoor applications.
Specific climatic class certifications according to the Standard IEC 60076-11 have been developed in order to guarantee to the users an high level of reliability of the transformer during transport, storage and operation at very low temperatures.

SEA SpA is proud to announce that it has been succesfully performed the C5 thermal shock climatic tests on its cast resin transformers.

The tested transformer is a three-phase dry-type transformer with encapsulated MV windings, for continuous duty, with cooling by natural air (AN):
Rated Power: 1000 kVA
Rated Voltages: 20/0,4 kV
Rated frequency: 50 Hz

SEA SpA has certified this product (Certificate no. RP LS 22/203) with the highest rating available in the market for the transport, storage and operation at very low temperatures (C5 certification).

This implies that our cast resin transformers can be used in challenging environments, thanks to its high environmental class for highly polluted areas, as well as climatic class, for transport, storage and operation at very low temperatures (up to -50° for operating and -60° for storage and transport), and resistance to fire hazard.

This is another important weapon at disposal to prove the extreme reliability of our transformers in regions where temperatures are extremely cold.
